We are hyped to get the discs flying in Deer Park on Tuesday! For the first time, we're running Deer Park Kickball and Ultimate on the same night! Kickball will play from 7 pm to 8pm and Ultimate will play from 8:15 pm to 9:15 pm. Several of you, like me, are playing in both leagues! For those sticking just to Ultimate, come early and hang out! I'll have team shirts ready to go for you before we start our games, that way you'll look your LI-Kick BEST for Week 1 team photos and in-game action shots!

Rules:

• Gameplay is 5 v 5 (opposing teams should discuss before gametime how to handle gender splits during a point, I'm happy to help clarify how you can make this work)
• Fields will be 40 yards long with 5 yard endzones
• Games will be timed: Two 25-minute halves w/ 10-minute halftime
• Each point starts with a "kick-off" called a "pull" (defense throws down the field to the offense); Play is continuous during a point (if the offense drops the disc, defense can pick it up and play the other way immediately)
• A player scores a point by catching a pass in the endzone, make sure to record each point you score by flipping the scorecard on the side of the field

Bar Champs: LI-Kick loves hosting bar games as a way to express more competitiveness and meet more people on the league! Each week we will host one game to compete in and see who will earn a prize! We are lucky enough to be sharing our field with the Deer Park Kickball league this season so we've decided to play the bar games together! Our bar games are aimed to begin around 8pm (after kickball, before frisbee) so make sure to show up early if you want to join in the fun.

Pro Tips: If its your rookie season I have a few suggestions to make your first night easier:

• Wear cleats - People have different opinions on which cleats are best (I wear soccer cleats) however any cleat (no metal spiked/studs allowed) is better than sneakers. (Cleats are not mandatory, just recommended to help you keep your footing on the field).
• Warm up - Nobody ever said chucking a plastic circle to your buddy will go smoothly as soon as you hop out of your car at the field, it takes practice! Find a friend (or make a new one!) before gametime and have a toss! Trust me, a good stretch beforehand will be well worth it too.
• Ask Questions - If you are unsure about a rule do not hesitate to ask! Come find me or another player who looks like they know what they're doing and let's chat! We are happy to help you learn the game or pick up a few tips to help with slinging that disc!
