Congratulations to Joel W and Lisa M for winning A Bracket and to Tom M and Karen M for winning B Bracket! Joel was a top contender all season, he was consistently ranked in the top spots every week. In a shocking turn of events, with Grace out at the last minute due to an injury, A Bracket teams were rearranged and Lisa moved into Grace's spot as Joel's partner. Lisa's consistent playing and great serves were all Joel needed to pick Lisa. Both Joel & Lisa and Rob & Cello mopped the floor with their opponents, in 4 games, their opponents only scored 4 points! After the first two final matches, Joel & Lisa and Rob & Cello found themselves at a tiebreaker! The two teams played a nail bitter first to 3 matches with Lisa serving first. Rob & Cello couldn't seal the deal and lost in the tiebreaker 3-2. It was awesome to watch. Joel & Lisa took home some sweet LI-Kick duffle bags to hold their pickleball stuff in.
On court 5, Tom & Karen gave everything they had to secure a B bracket win! In their first game, Chris & Sue went down kicking and screaming, with a game-ending 15-13 in favor of Tom & Karen. In the final set, Tom & Karen lost the first game 12-10 in favor of Rhonda & Paul. Tom & Karen held Rhonda & Paul at 2 points for the second game to secure the B Bracket Championship. Tom & Karen took home matching LI-Kick water bottles!
Courts 6 & 7 were filled with fun and lots of great games. On court 6 all games were within 4 points of each other and court 7 had a 12-10 game, Jeanne & Nicole vs. Mary and Cathi!
It was so great to meet, hang out and best of all, play with you guys every week! Thanks for letting me get on the court and hit around. I hope to see all of you in the future.
The next season starts on May 2nd, there are still openings for anyone on the waitlist for 8 PM, we are unable to add any additional spots so if you're looking to play (and beat me) make sure you sign up for 9 PM before registration ends on 4/16!
