Soccer League Rules
Main Rule Set = FIFA
We follow FIFA rules, with some adaptions. This is the need to know;
(last update 2/13/24)
- Players - All leagues are co-ed. Teams can have any gender ratio on their roster but must play the league’s set gender ratio on the field. Gender ratios may differ by league and division so check your leagues’ webpage for your gender ratio. Additionally, ‘free agent teams’ may not have to adhere to the set gender ratio.
- Periods of play - Most games are 55 minutes long with a 25-minute first half, 5-minute half time, and 25-30 second half.
- Fields - Our games are played on junior-sized fields and are usually 6v6 or 7v7 depending on location.
- Subbing - Players can sub in and out as necessary.
- Cards - Red and Yellow cards may be issued by the referee for misconduct both on and off the field. Players and teams receive discipline for card accumulation.
- Equipment - Safety gear such as shin guards, goalie gloves, etc are not required but are always recommended.
