Rules

RULES

General

Teams will be randomly assigned to four pools on the day of the tournament.

All teams in a pool will play each other.

Based on the standings from pool play the top 16 teams will be chosen to advance to a single elimination bracket.

Teams can have up to 4 players, but only 2 players will play in any game. The team decides which players play and there are no restrictions on how often a player can play. There are no gender requirements.

Minimum 2 Players needed per team.

Environment

Courts will be spaced 27’ apart (front of board to front of board)

Court space may be tight, please do your best to be respectful to the games and players happening around you. Do not cross in front of courts during gameplay.

Game Play

During Pool Play a game of Rock Paper Scissors will be played to determine who throws first and the lane choice (which side of the board to stand on). The losing team determines the "head-to-head" matchups.

During the Bracket Play, the higher seed determines who throws first and the lane choice (which side of the board to stand on). The lower seed determines the "head-to-head" matchups.

Players must throw from behind the front of the board.

Teams alternate throwing bags.

Players on the same team MUST stand across from each other on the same side of the board.

If a bag hits the ground and then bounces onto the board, that bag shall be taken off the playing surface.

If a bag lands in front of the board it should be cleared before the next bag is thrown.

There may be some courts that have ceiling based obstacles, (lights, rigging, etc.), if a bag hits one of these obstacles, it must be rethrown.

The Team who scores in an inning throws first in the next inning. If both teams have the same inning score then the game score stays the same and throwing-honors stays with the team who had it the previous round.

Scoring

Teams earn 3 Points for every bag in the hole.

Teams earn 1 Point for every bag on the board or hanging off the board.

Differential Scoring, if Team A Scores 5 points, and Team B scores 2, Team A gets three points that frame.

First team to score 21 points or MORE at the end of an inning wins. There is no rebuttal and teams DO NOT have to win by 2 points.

Fouls

If a players foot goes past the front of the board, this is termed a foot foul and the bag thrown shall be removed from play.

If a player throws a bag out of turn, the bag thrown shall be removed from play.

First Season: Kickball - Spring '13

Favorite Bar Game: Stack Cup

Why I First Started LI-Kick: Once I moved back to Long Island after college, I didn't have much going on so I created a kickball league to meet new people since then it has been the greatest joy of my life

Advice for New Players: Immerse yourself, LI-Kick is more than a Kickball League. you're wasting your money if you only stick around for the game. go to the after-party, meet people and check out weekly events

Proudest LI-Kick Moment: When my parents joined the bowling league and I got to share my love for LI-Kick with them.

Dust off your bags it's time for our Fall Fest Cornhole Tournament. We're renting out the Ducks Stadium and running a cornhole tournament on the concourse and a kickball tournament on the field. Additional Activities

FLIP CUP TOURNAMENT: After the playoff games have been announced there will be a flip cup tournament on the concourse level. Teams of 3 will go head to head against each other. You do not need to be on the same team to play together in the flip cup tournament. Winners will take home custom medals and $20 gift cards to our sponsor bar, Fatty McGee's in East Islip.

FALL PHOTOBOOTH: We invited one of our charity partners to attend. Dan Hopper is a photographer that runs a charity called Carpe Diem which supports the families of children with disabilities. Dan is setting up a Fall photo backdrop to take portraits of players. Check out the Fall photo backdrop on the concourse level to get a picture taken by Dan.

Frequently Asked Questions

While we love pets, most of the venues have pet policies that we must enforce and we ask our players to follow these rules. Venues that are pet friendly will be marked.

We know that part of the fun is having a couple drinks with your friends while hanging out on the sidelines. That said, most of the venues we play at have strict rules regarding the consumption of beer and alcohol that we must enforce and we ask our players to follow these rules. When possible LI-Kick secures the proper permits to allow players to bring their own booze, in these cases those leagues and tournaments will indicate that this is allowed.

We thank you for supporting our bar sponsors and facilities by not attempting to sneak in outside drinks.
