Summary

Theme Week starts October 2nd. Theme week is a massive competition between all teams in LI-Kick. This season's theme is "Team Theme" which means your team can pick any theme you choose.

ELO is a rating that reflects a team's skill. When you beat a good team, your ELO rating goes up, however when you suffer an upset, your ELO rating goes down. Teams from last season have had their ELO carried forward to summer. New D1 teams start with an ELO of 1400. ELO automatically adjusts after every game.

Rules

View Full Rulebook

On defense, 10 players are in the field- 5 men and 5 women.

On offense, everyone can kick, you must alternate genders when kicking.

Any additional players may be included in the kicking lineup and be freely subbed in on defense. A minimum of 4m and 4f is required for an official game.

Games are 9-innings long. Bases are 60 feet apart.

This is slow pitch and the ball must be pitched in good faith with no intent to deceive, bounce, spin or speed the ball past the kicker. There are no strikes or balls, however a kicker can foul out for accumulating three fouls.

Bunting is legal, however there is a ‘catcher rule’ which states “a kicker will be given two strikes and the ball will be called dead if the catcher is able to possess the ball before the kicker reaches first base”. The kicker will kick again.

Fielders have the right of way when in possession of the ball or making an imminent play on the ball. Fielders must stay clear of the base paths in all other cases.

A play is over when a defensive player is on the mound with possession of the ball. Runners in motion will go to the base closest to them (half way rule).

We have an 8-4-12 Mercy Rule. When losing by 8 or more runs, the losing teams get 12 fielders on defense and 4 outs on offense for the entirety of the inning.

The umpire will exhibit and interpret these rules based on the ‘spirit of the game’ and the umpire’s decision is final in all matters. Only captains may ask an umpire for an explanation of a call and captains share in the responsibility of the conduct of their teammate’s behaviors.

Additional Info

Welcome to our biggest Ronkonkoma league ever with 12 teams in the league!

Whether this is your first time playing kickball since the playground days or you’re on your quest for your 100th kickball season I want to give you a warm welcome to our Sunday Kickball League

Our first games are this Sunday 9/10.

Umpires: Each week a team from the 11 am time slot and a team from the 12 pm time slot will provide 3 umpires for the time slot that are not playing. The umpires will still get paid and each team only has to do this once during the regular season. Next week I will have a schedule for teams umpiring the rest of the season so any preferences please let me know. This week we will have kicks of steal umpiring at 11 am and existential crisis umpiring at 12 pm

Here’s what to expect

You will meet your teammates and receive a team shirt. Wear cleats if you have them and dress accordingly. If you happen to miss week 1, your team captain will have your shirt for you on week 2. Bring water and stay hydrated

Games will start at 11am so arrive early to find your field, team and get that warm-up in! We will be playing right after Frisbee

Pro Tips: If it's your rookie season I have a few suggestions to make your first night easier:

Wear cleats - People have different opinions on which cleats are best (I personally am partial to the Soccer cleat) however any cleat (no metal spiked/studs allowed) is better than sneakers.

Bring Water- It can get hot under the sun on the field so please make sure you’re staying hydrated with more then just beer.

Sunglasses - pretty self explanatory, you need to see the ball to catch it

Stretch- Kickball might not be the most strenuous sport but there are plenty of pulled muscles that would be easily avoided with a little pregame stretching

Check out the rules section on the league website (right under the week 7 schedule) - it always helps to understand the game you're playing.

You'll find a lot more info like the schedule, scores and standings at the league website so hit the button below. You should also 'follow' LI-Kick on Instagram and 'like' us on Facebook.

Frequently Asked Questions

Nope! Most of our leagues and tournaments allow you to join as a free agent or with one or with a group of friends (while being kept together), in fact, most first time players join this way. When you register we'll ask a few simple questions and we'll do our best to fill out your roster with players like you. That said, the free agent pool for some leagues, like cornhole are limited so your best bet is to join with a friend and form a complete team.

In addition to the weekly game, many of our leagues also include a series of mini-challenges. The challenges vary by league, but generally teams are awarded points for bar attendance, taking and sharing photos and playing & winning different bar games. Games may occur on the field or at the leagues sponsor bar. The team with the most points at the end of the season will be crowned the Bar Champs and earn some fun swag and bragging rights.

Generally, registration covers the cost of equipment, facility use, umpires/refs and a team shirt. You'll also be given access to the various social events we host and sponsor throughout the year.
